LIFT Ireland Donor Charter

LIFT Ireland is a Not for Profit Social Enterprise and therefore is not registered as a Charity in Ireland. However, in order to ensure transparency, integrity, and best practice in how we raise funds for our work, LIFT Ireland voluntarily adheres to the Charities Regulator’s Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the public and Social Enterprises Republic of Ireland (SERI) guidelines. LIFT Ireland’s alignment with these standards reflects our strong commitment to ethical fundraising and public accountability. We deeply value the trust our supporters place in us and are dedicated to maintaining that trust by using every donation to further our mission of raising the level of leadership across Ireland and beyond.
Our Commitment to You
We promise to:
- Treat all our donors with respect, honesty, and confidentiality.
- Ensure that our communications with you are honest and transparent
- Communicate openly and transparently about the work of LIFT Ireland and how your donations are used to support LIFT’s work in schools and communities across Ireland.
- Use donations effectively and responsibly, ensuring they directly support our programmes and initiatives.
- Respect your privacy and never share your personal information without your consent.
- Never apply undue pressure when seeking donations.
- Acknowledge and thank you for your support in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Inform you clearly whether those seeking donations on our behalf are volunteers, staff, or third-party representatives.
- Respond promptly and truthfully to any questions you may have about LIFT Ireland, our fundraising or our financial practices.
- Strive to adhere to the guidelines and requirements contained in the Charities Act, 2009 (PDF) and comply with the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 (PDF)
How We Handle Donations
All donations to LIFT Ireland will be:
- Handled with care, accuracy, and transparency.
- Financial records will be kept to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Processed efficiently, so your support can begin making a difference as soon as possible.
- Acknowledged and thanked in a timely and appropriate manner
- Used solely to advance LIFT’s mission of building a better Ireland through leadership.
- Directed to specific programmes if requested, or to similar initiatives if a particular appeal is fully funded (we will always communicate this clearly).
- Included in our annual financial reports, which are independently audited and filed with the Companies’ Office.

LIFT Ireland’s Staff will:
- Be polite, courteous, transparent, and honest.
- Respond to all enquiries, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Achieve the highest standards of professionalism at all times
- Seek to minimise costs relating to both fundraising activities and how we use those funds in our operations.
- Make it easy to ask a question or make a complaint and deal with all such feedback seriously, quickly and appropriately.
- Transparently report on our financial performance in full compliance with national accounting laws and protocols.
